The Story of Our Baked Goods
It all started with pie. With the hoophouses, we had produce to take to the Sault Winter Market, but only a little bit. Our market table was going to look a bit scant so we decided to add a few pies - the kind of pie we would serve to guests at our home. They are called ‘rustic tarts’ since a single, oversized pastry is wrapped up and over the filling.
The pies caught on. Then the cookies (our specialty is lime/coconut), then the scones, then the artisan breads.
We attribute the popularity of our baked goods to our use of only the finest ingredients, using Michigan products whenever possible. In fact, items such as carrot cake and pumpkin bread feature our own produce for fresh-picked flavor.
